CGRMC’s Desert Pavilion Receives Grant
Casa Grande Regional Medical Center’s (CGRMC’s) Desert Pavilion was honored by the State of Arizona’s Department of Health Services with the award of a $23,000 grant. This funding will enable Desert Pavilion to continue providing excellent quality care to its patients.
A portion of the grant will be used to purchase a wireless communication system for the long term care facility, allowing nurses to communicate more easily with physicians when they are caring for patients away from the nursing station. This allows for a higher quality of care for patients since physician orders can be communicated more directly and immediately, without leaving repeated messages. It also decreases the amount of overhead paging that can disturb patients who are resting. CGRMC has already implemented this system in the hospital and clinical staff reports that it allows them to perform their duties more efficiently.
The remainder of the grant will be used to purchase an Invacare Stand Up Lift. This equipment allows patients to be safely lifted from a lying or seated position to a standing position by a single person. This purchase will enhance both the care and dignity provided to patients in the long term care facility.
