$1 Million Grant Awarded by GRIC to CGRMC
Casa Grande Regional Medical Center will celebrate with the Gila River Indian Community the largest gift ever given to CGRMC and the largest known grant from a Tribe to a community hospital. At 10:00 AM on Monday morning, December 5, CGRMC will honor the Gila River Indian Community for its very generous gift of $1 million in support of the hospital’s Emergency Department Expansion. Governor Narcia will present a check for $1 million, which will be used by the hospital as a “lead gift” in our $6 million Emergency Department expansion project.

This ceremony will feature the grant award, a presentation by CGRMC to the Tribe and brief remarks from Casa Grande Mayor Walton, along with Tribal and hospital representatives. The community is cordially invited to attend and light refreshments will be available immediately following the ceremony.

According to CGRMC’s President and CEO, J. Marty Dernier, “This is a momentous occasion in the history of Pinal County and represents a true cooperative venture between the hospital and our friends on Tribal lands.” Dernier continues, “Hopefully, this most significant gift will stimulate others to recognize the importance of bringing the practice of emergency medicine into the 21st Century at CGRMC and cause the community to give generously to the upcoming Capital Campaign.”
