CGRMC is Awarded Accreditation by Joint Commission
By demonstrating compliance with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization's (JCAHO) national standards for health care quality and safety, Casa Grande Regional Medical Center (CGRMC) has earned the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval™. This award excludes skilled nursing and nursing home services which completed a separate survey through the Arizona Department of Health Services.
"We sought continued accreditation for our organization because of our commitment to patient safety and quality care," says J. Marty Dernier, CGRMC’s President and CEO. "Obtaining Joint Commission accreditation is another step toward achieving our goals."
"Above all, the national standards are intended to stimulate continuous, systematic and organization-wide improvement in an organization's performance and the outcomes of care," says Darlene Christiansen, executive director, Hospital Accreditation Program, Joint Commission. "The community should be proud that Casa Grande Regional is focusing on the most challenging goal -- to continuously raise quality and safety to higher levels."
The Joint Commission conducted an unannounced, on-site evaluation of CGRMC on April 18-20, 2006. The hospital’s laboratory was surveyed separately by Joint Commission on March 9-10, 2006. The award of both these accreditations recognizes CGRMC’s dedication to complying with the Joint Commission’s state-of-the-art standards on a continuous basis.
Dernier says efforts to improve don't stop when the Joint Commission survey is over. "Meeting the standards and achieving excellence is a continuous process," he says. "No matter how well we did today, we continue to strive to do better tomorrow."
