Wells Fargo Awards Grant to Behavioral Health Services
 On November 7, 2005 Behavioral Health Services and the Foundation were one of 14 non-profit organizations in the state of Arizona named as the recipients of a $5,000 grant awarded by the Community Partners of Wells Fargo Bank.
The Community Partners is formed by a panel of Wells Fargo employees. The areas in which Wells Fargo directs their attention are Community Development, Education, and Human Services. This year the focus of the Human Services grant was placed on Mental Health. Therefore, the Community Partners set out to award grants to 14 non-profit Arizona agencies serving the mentally ill.
Mike Kayes of CGRMC Business Development wrote the grant proposal based upon a gap in services that was identified by Sandy DeCuzzi, LCSW and therapist of the Structured Outpatient Program in the Behavioral Health Department. Sandy gives credit to the wives of two of her patients whom brought the concept to her attention. They expressed the need to have a support group for the caregivers of patients with mental illness. Sandy embraced this idea and developed it into an exciting proposal, which lead the way to the $5,000 grant received from Wells Fargo. These funds will be utilized to purchase the educational and therapeutic tools needed to create two successful caregivers support groups. The Behavioral Health Department is excited to have the opportunity to offer the community such a wonderful and much needed behavioral health service.
