Approximately 136 golfers gathered at Grande Valley Golf Club in Eloy to participate in the 18th Annual CGRMC Auxiliary Golf Tournament on Friday, October 28.

Golfers began arriving at the golf course at about 11 a.m. in plenty of time to register, pick up their gift bags and get situated for the noon shotgun start. Their gift bags were mini thermal golf bags, perfect for packing a lunch, drink tickets, snacks, bottled water and golf balls.

All day long the weather was perfect for golfing and attendees made the most of it. Golfing lasted until about 5 p.m. and cocktails followed along with a finger-food feast of shrimp, fruit, vegetables, hot wings, ham, roast beef and a multitude of other treats including strawberry cake for dessert.

It was evident that the CGRMC Radiology Department attended since they won the low gross trophy and Patrick Meade won the tournaments famous and much coveted Wheelbarrow of Cheer raffle. The raffle is for a full-sized wheelbarrow filled with various kinds of wine, liquor, beer, chips, pretzels and other tempting treats.

The event has grown to be a sizeable tournament with sponsors that helped raise over $30,000 to benefit the hospital. Sponsors such as IKON, Medical Diagnostic Imaging Group, Ltd., and the CGRMC Foundation were sponsor leaders contributing a $5,000 sponsorship helping to make the tournament a success.
