CGRMC FoundationHow You Can Help
 There are many ways in which to make gifts to CGRMC. Gifts may be made in the following categories: Annual Appeals, Honor or Memorial Gifts, Grants and Major Gifts, Foundation Events, Capital Campaigns or Planned/Estate Gifts.
Annual Appeals
Annual Appeals are generally made in response to direct mail appeals. CGRMC Foundation mails appeals each year seeking support of projects such as the Emergency Department Expansion or programs such as free mammography’s for low-income women.
Honor or Memorial Gifts
Gifts may be made in honor or memory of someone. The Foundation notifies the person honored or the family of the person being memorialized. The amount of the gift is not disclosed.
Grants & Major Gifts
The Foundation seeks grants and major gifts in support of specific projects (such as equipment for the OB Department or Pediatrics) or programs (such as free mammography’s for low-income women or free prescription medications for the needy treated in the Emergency Department).
Foundation Events
There are a number of Foundation events each year. These events include a Charity Golf Tournament in the fall and a Spring Gala (both are CGRMC Auxiliary Events supported by the Foundation). The Foundation House project builds a new house through the generosity of area contractors and businesses. The House is then sold and the profits are contributed to the Foundation. Other events occur as approved by the Foundation board.
Capital Campaigns
Capital campaigns such as the Emergency Department Expansion Campaign will be conducted by the Foundation periodically. The project selected for the campaign is selected by the Medical Center and Foundation Boards. Projects selected are ones needed to ensure continued excellence in health care for our community and to address growth issues resulting from the area’s exploding population.
Planned/Estate Gifts
Friends of CGRMC are asked to consider a Planned/Estate Gift. This type of gift is different from gifts previously mentioned in that they are made from estate assets rather than personal income. Approximately 80% of planned/estate gifts are made through bequests. CGRMC Foundation encourages medical center supporters to include CGRMC in their Will and Estate Plan. A simple statement added to your will can designate that either a set amount bequest or a residual portion of estate assets (such as 10% of the residual after children are provided for) be established. Many people would like to leave an estate gift but are afraid of outliving their assets. For them, a simple Gift Annuity Agreement can establish an annuity that guaranties lifetime payments for one or two people at rates of 6, 7, 8 or even 11% (based on age of annuitants), provide a large income tax deduction and contribute a significant gift to the CGRMC Foundation.
