To reach a patient, dial the general number and request the patient, or you will be prompted to dial 5 and then the patients room number if you know it. | | Family and friends may visit patients at any time between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., unless the attending physician or charge nurse limits the time in the best interest of the patient.
Family members or parents/guardians of pediatric patients or terminally ill patients may stay with the patient around the clock, provided only one family member remains with the patient from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 a.m.
· The administrative supervisor, nursing unit director, or the attending
physician may ask any visitor to leave.
· Bedside visiting shall be restricted to two visitors at a time.
· The patient has the right to refuse visitors.
Visitors under the age of 14 are not permitted in patient care areas during the RSV season (November through April). At other times, children may visit if they stay in the room and do so quietly.
Visitors are allowed in the intensive care unit at the nurse's discretion, with the exception that no visitors are allowed between 6:45 a.m.-7:45 a.m. and 6:45 p.m.-7:45 p.m. Visits are limited to 15 minutes and only two visitors are allowed at a time. Exceptions may be made according to the patient’s condition and the discretion of the ICU/CCU nurse. Visiting hours are posted to protect patient privacy and ensure quality health care. |
