CGRMC Fundraiser Aids Stanfield Clinic

It hardly seems likely that a hospital foundation would seek the services of a buffoonish big-screen ogre in order to raise funds for a free clinic, but that’s exactly what took place on May 21 at Harkins Theatres Casa Grande, when the Casa Grande Regional Medical Center Foundation utilized the opening of the latest “Shrek” film to help fund children’s services at the Stanfield Free Clinic.
According to Karen Kerr-Osman, CGRMC community relations director, the mission of the members of the CGRMC Foundation is to partner with the community in various ways, and she says they do that by applying for grants to support projects that benefit the community.
“One of the really top-priority community projects for the foundation is the Stanfield Free Clinic that sees patients that don’t have access to other medical care,” Kerr-Osman said, “because they don’t have medical insurance and aren’t able to see a doctor. We became aware that they were in need of some additional funding for things like lab tests that need to be sent out for blood work analysis, medical imaging services or that some patients need to be referred to a physician.
